A friend calls your blogstress's attention to a rather striking development in Democratic campaign portraiture: social realist or constructivist posters officially sanctioned by the campaigns. According to l'amie de ton écrivane, it appears as if Obama's going for the Leninist aesthetic, while Hillary's down with Mao. Is this really a good idea?

I don't mean to be contentious, but the Obama poster strikes me as more Mao-like, while the Hillary one is more reminiscent of Japanese patriotic art deco circe 1938-1940.

The party of my youth has completely lost all credibility. The only thing left to wonder about is which of the Keating 5 that President John McCoolidge will appoint to the Supreme Court. How's the baby Jesus doing?
